Overview

This is an interview position. This job is part-time with shifts including holidays. Location: 1950 Sargent Avenue, Winnipeg, MB R3H 1C8.

Position

Driver/Merchandiser roles responsible for loading/unloading, delivering and picking up packages, and related customer service functions. Requires safe operation of delivery vehicles, adherence to regulations, and ability to work flexible schedules.

Responsibilities
  • Load and unload aircrafts and vehicles, sort packages, and provide efficient delivery and pick-up of packages.
  • Check shipments for conformance to Federal Express Canada features of service; provide related customer service functions.
  • Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment.
  • Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods; provide pick up and delivery services on request.
  • Record trip information such as vehicle mileage, fuel, and other required data.
  • Drive safely in all traffic and weather conditions; maintain a valid driving license and clean driving record.
  • Be available to be away from home 10-21 days at a time depending on home base.
  • Ensure timely delivery of goods to customer sites as needed or as part of a pre-defined route; review orders prior to delivery.
  • Follow safety protocols and report unsafe conditions to the maintenance manager.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or educational equivalent; secondary school graduation preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license with a good driving record; ability to provide a driver’s abstract if required.
  • Experience: 1 year to 2 years preferred for driving; minimum 1 year verifiable truck driving experience.
  • Ability to lift up to 70 lbs and maneuver packages up to 150 lbs with appropriate equipment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; good time management and organizational skills; ability to multitask and work under pressure.
  • Some knowledge of operations and customs regulations is an asset; knowledge of Federal Express Canada operations is a plus.
  • Willingness to be flexible with schedules and holidays; willingness to travel on long-haul routes if applicable.
