A prominent transit organization in Victoria is seeking a Transit Planning Coordinator for a 10-month temporary role. Transit Planning Coordinator

Employment Type: 10 months Temporary Full Time

Union: MOVEUP

Monthly Salary Range: MoveUp Group 08, MIN $5,419.00 - MAX $6,497.00 is available through annual general wage/step increases.

Recruitment Range: MIN $5,419 – STEP 3 $6,008.

Placement in the salary range is determined by an assessment of knowledge, skills, experience and ability of the candidate to meet the key requirements of the job. In exceptional cases, candidates may be hired above the recruitment range, provided agreement is reached with the Union.

What you'll be doing...

Reporting to the Manager, Service Planning, the Transit Planning Coordinator is responsible for supporting the Branch by assisting in all aspects of transportation planning and related activities. The Transit Coordinator will establish working relationships with BC Transit staff and external partners to coordinate activities, exchange information and build knowledge and technical expertise in the planning field.

What you'll bring to the table...
  • Post secondary degree in urban geography or transportation planning or a related field.
  • 18 months related experience in transportation related industry where knowledge of transit operations, planning tools, and written and oral communication skills have been acquired.
  • Knowledge of statistical analysis and survey design.
  • Excellent word processing and spreadsheet application skills.
  • Demonstrated experience working in a fast paced, deadline-driven environment where multitasking.
  • Comfortable working both independently and within a team environment.
