Key Responsibilities

  • Engineer Multi‑Region Solutions: Design and implement multi‑region traffic management (traffic shadowing/shifting), robust disaster recovery, and scalable databases.
  • Modernize Architecture: Support the transition to microservices, drive automation, and ensure systems can handle peak events (e.g., Super Bowl) without major rework.
  • Enforce Operational Excellence: Define best practices for CI/CD, observability, and incident response to improve engineering velocity.
  • Mentor & Influence: Provide guidance to engineers and development teams on cloud‑native development, GCP services, and multi‑cloud operations.
  • Drive Strategy & Innovation: Shape the DevOps roadmap, proposing and implementing advanced solutions (serverless, hybrid data models, advanced traffic management) to future‑proof our platform.
  • Ensure Security & Compliance: Embed security best practices (IAM, network policies, data protection) and align with industry standards.
Who You Are
  • Education: Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience: 8+ years in DevOps/cloud infrastructure/platform engineering, including 3+ in a senior or staff‑level role leading large‑scale initiatives.
  • Technical Expertise:
  • Cloud Platforms: Proven hands‑on experience with AWS and GCP (including multi‑region architectures and GCP‑managed services like GKE, Spanner, Pub/Sub).
  • Containers & Orchestration: Deep expertise with Docker and Kubernetes, including cluster management and scalability.
  • Automation & IaC: Skilled in Terraform, CloudFormation, CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions, ArgoCD).
  • Networking & Security: Strong TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP, and TLS knowledge; experience with IAM, network security groups, and secret management.
  • System Design: Ability to architect and scale distributed systems (caching, database scaling, high availability).
  • Coding & Scripting: Advanced Python, Bash, and Go for automation; comfortable solving medium‑level data structure/algorithm challenges.
  • Monitoring & Logging: Familiarity with Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, and distributed tracing.
  • Soft Skills:
  • Leadership & Mentorship: Adept at guiding cross‑functional teams, sharing knowledge, and promoting best practices.
  • Problem‑Solving: Track record of solving complex, ambiguous problems with innovative, scalable solutions.
