Job summary

A regional health authority in Canada is seeking a Registered Nurse (N2) for the Labour Delivery Recovery unit in Winnipeg. The successful applicant may be eligible for an annual full-time incentive of up to $2,000 each year until 2025 as per MOU #31 of the current MNU collective agreement.

Position Overview
Experience
  • Recent Labour/Delivery/Recovery nursing experience or one (1) year combined mother-baby care experience required.
  • Recent Operating Room nursing experience preferred.

**Nurses currently working on the unit will be deemed qualified.

Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)
  • Successful completion of the AORN Periop 101 on-line course or equivalent Operating Room training/experience is preferred.

Applicants without previous Operating Room training/experience must successfully complete the AORN Periop 101 on-line course* within three months of the date of employment. Extensions to complete the course may be granted up to six (6) months in special circumstances.

Certification/Licensure/Registration
  • Current CRNM registration required.
  • Active participation in professional associations e.g. Association of Registered Nurses of Manitoba (ARNM) preferred.

NOTE: Successful completion of the Neonatal Resuscitation Program at a time scheduled by the employer or at a time mutually agreed upon between the nurse and the employer required.

Qualifications and Skills
  • Bilingualism required (ability to understand and speak English/French). **
  • Scope of practice as documented in the Regulated Health Professions Act (RHPA).

**The candidate must be able to understand and speak French at a proficiency level that allows them to sustain varied in-depth conversations with patients and families. Language proficiency will be evaluated in order to assess the applicant’s proficiency level. For more information on the required proficiency level, please contact the Human Resources Department.
