Our Ideal Candidate

You are a dynamic and experienced environmental professional with a passion for construction and heavy industry. As our Regional Environmental Lead / QEP, you’ll be a go-to leader in British Columbia and Alberta for projects requiring expert environmental strategy, regulatory compliance, and onsite support. With a blend of technical knowledge and business acumen, you’ll help expand our environmental presence, guide project teams, and ensure top-tier client service.

You are a Qualified Environmental Professional (QEP) and thrive in a leadership role that balances project management, mentorship, and business development.

A Day in the Life
  • Serve as the local QEP on a range of projects, supporting permitting and regulatory compliance
  • Planning, organizing, and managing a diverse array of projects, people, and tasks.
  • Successfully managing project delivery through cost-efficient and timely completion of deliverables.
  • Lead the development of environmental management plans, permitting applications, and related documentation
  • Conduct or coordinate pre-disturbance assessments and on-site environmental monitoring
  • Oversee and manage environmental scopes of work across BC and Alberta
  • Write technical reports and support high-quality proposal submissions
  • Support business development initiatives and help build environmental service offerings in the region
  • Work closely with internal and external stakeholders, including regulatory agencies and Indigenous communities
What You’ll Bring to the Team
  • B.Sc. in earth/environmental science, biology, forestry or related field
  • Possess a professional designation (i.e., R.P.Bio., P.Biol., PAg, or similar) and be a member in good standing of the professional body
  • 7-10 years of relevant experience
  • Demonstrated experience in project management and the ability to manage multiple projects with limited supervision
  • Broad based experience in heavy industrial/civil construction sector including but not limited to: water quality, fisheries, plants, wetlands, ESC, contaminated sites, etc.
  • Experience with environmental monitoring and compliance inspections
  • Ability and willingness to work in a variety of field settings
  • Demonstrated experience with technical writing, reporting, and communication
  • Knowledge of environmental regulations, policies, permits, and legislation in BC and Alberta
  • Strong interpersonal skills and collaborative working style
  • Provide mentorship and training for our environmental professional team
  • Strong problem solver able to address challenges with effective solutions that improve systems and/or relationships, and with the ability to think outside the box
  • Understanding of markets and business development opportunities an asset
  • Experience in working with multi-disciplinary teams to meet objectives, develop programs to manage risks, and maintain compliance
  • Valid driver's license
