The Beat 92.5, a Cogeco Media Inc. radio station, is currently looking for a Program Director. The successful candidate will shadow and support the Vice President, Digital Strategy and musical stations in all aspects of the radio station’s listener experience, including talent, programming, production and online/social media presence.

Main Responsibilities
  • Participate in the design and implementation of the station's strategic plan to ensure its development, growth and profitability, and ensure the execution of the annual programming plan;
  • Support with concrete interventions all hosts, columnists and news readers so that the on-air content is impactful and in line with the station's business plan;
  • Continuously monitor the airwaves, intervene as needed with on-air personnel, and produce listening reports;
  • Lead animation team production meetings;
  • Manage programming budgets;
  • Ensure the on-air optimization of the station's sound image;
  • Lead the personnel under his/her supervision to ensure great internal cohesion between all stakeholders in order to ultimately produce high-quality on-air content;
  • Ensure the smooth running of operations related to the station's programming as well as promotional interventions aimed at properly positioning and growing the station in its market;
  • Be on the lookout for new talent and ways to constantly energize the content of the various programs in force;
  • Ensure the compliance of programs with CRTC regulatory requirements;
  • Promote antenna content on different platforms and social media, in collaboration with the digital team;
  • Develop a stimulating, dynamic work environment conducive to the performance and development of the stations;
  • Represent the station in various events in the Montreal region.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in radio programming;
  • Excellent knowledge of MusicMaster, Dalet and Social Media platforms;
  • Knowledge and appreciation of Hot AC format and ability to relate to the station’s audience;
  • High degree of planning and organizing skills; can multitask and meet specific deadlines in a fast pace environment;
  • In-depth knowledge of the radio industry, very well informed of the realities and developments in the Montreal artistic community;
  • Experience in regulated music markets;
  • Superior oral and written communications skills, excellent grammar in English. Bilingualism an asset.
  • Great capacity to work in teams and mobilize human resources.
