Alberta Health Services is seeking a Pharmacy Technician I in Fort McMurray. Your Opportunity:
Pharmacy Technicians will work with Pharmacy Assistants and Pharmacists, working to their full scope of practice. They collaborate within the healthcare team, performing all aspects of drug distribution and inventory control to ensure efficient daily operations and safe, quality patient care. Core duties include distribution tasks, repackaging, final product checking, handling and storage of controlled substances, and inventory management, including receiving and purchasing pharmaceuticals. They also assist with staff training and precepting students. Clinically deployed technicians participate in medication reconciliation activities and clarify discrepancies to support direct patient care. The NLRH Pharmacy Technician schedule follows an alternate scheduling option per the HSAA Collective Agreement Letter of Understanding #31 (consecutive days of work).

Required Qualifications: Completion of a CCAPP-accredited Pharmacy Technician Training Program. Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Pharmacy (ACP) as a Pharmacy Technician.

Preferred Qualifications: Sterile and non-sterile compounding including chemotherapy preparation. EPIC & EPIC Inventory experience, barcoding, compounding & re-packaging, dispensing functionality. Experience with Automated Dispensing Cabinets. Precepting Pharmacy Technician Students.
