Job Summary

The Loss Prevention Specialist is primarily responsible for preventing financial loss caused by theft and fraud and supporting safety and environmental program compliance in their assigned territory. Responsibilities include using tools to minimize loss, identifying incidents of theft and fraud, reviewing CCTV, monitoring physical security, auditing safety processes, and contributing to a shrink-elimination culture.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Work as an undercover agent to prevent theft
• Detect and observe potential shoplifters
• Conduct apprehensions and recoveries per post orders
• Document incidents, report emergencies, and contact appropriate authorities
• Utilize smartphone or tablet to maintain daily electronic reports
• Work closely with local law enforcement and provide detailed statements on theft cases
• Must possess a valid Guard Card
• Must have reliable transportation
• Must possess exceptional customer service skills
• CCTV and knowledge of the 6-step process of loss prevention
• Knowledge of theft prevention, conflict resolution, and de-escalation methods
• Excellent report writing skills
• Operate and maintain site-specific security programs
• Punctuality
• Previous loss prevention experience is preferred

This position requires standing for prolonged periods, walking, bending, and lifting. Some positions may require sitting in front of a computer or monitor for periods of time.
