Base pay range

CA$100,000.00 / yr - CA$135,000.00 / yr

Overview

Oversee the financial operations of the company, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and insight. This role is both strategic and hands-on — balancing daily financial oversight with forward-looking analysis to guide leadership decisions. You’ll partner closely with ownership and senior leadership, playing a critical role in shaping the companies financial health and growth strategy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee all aspects of accounting and financial reporting, including month-end and year-end close.
  • Manage cash flow, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and inventory accounting.
  • Prepare accurate financial statements and management reports for leadership.
  • Develop budgets, forecasts, and financial models to support strategic planning.
  • Ensure compliance with tax, audit, and regulatory requirements.
  • Implement and maintain internal controls, policies, and procedures to safeguard company assets.
  • Partner with operations and sales leaders to improve profitability and margin management.
  • Provide financial insight on CAPEX, system upgrades, and AI-driven initiatives under consideration.
  • Liaise with external auditors, tax advisors, and banking partners.
  • Mentor and develop accounting / finance team members (if applicable).
Qualifications
  • CPA designation (CA, CMA, CGA) or equivalent strongly preferred.
  • Minimum 7–10 years of progressive accounting / finance experience, ideally in wholesale, distribution, or retail.
  • Strong understanding of inventory-based businesses and margin management.
  • Demonstrated experience with ERP / accounting systems (SAP experience an asset).
  • Analytical thinker with excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to communicate financial concepts clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Hands-on, proactive, and adaptable in a mid-sized, entrepreneurial business environment.
