Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.
  • Eligible for registration as an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) with Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO).
  • 0–2 years of relevant co‑op, internship, or entry‑level engineering experience an asset.
  • Strong technical aptitude and analytical skills.
  • PSPC Reliability Clearance or ability to obtain clearance.

  • Support preparation of engineering calculations and design documentation.
  • Assist in the development of drawings and BIM models.

Our Ottawa office is seeking a motivated Engineering Graduate / EIT in Mechanical Engineering to join our multidisciplinary Buildings team. This role is ideal for a recent mechanical engineering graduate looking to begin their professional career in consulting engineering, working on a variety of federal, municipal, and institutional projects across the National Capital Region and Ontario. As an EIT, you will work under the guidance of licensed Professional Engineers and collaborate with technologists, designers, and other engineering disciplines. You will gain hands‑on experience across all phases of project delivery, supporting the design of mechanical systems for buildings including offices, healthcare, and secure government facilities.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Assist with the design and analysis of building mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection
  • Support preparation of engineering calculations, technical reports, and design documentation
  • Assist in the development of drawings and BIM models using Revit and AutoCAD
  • Perform load calculations, equipment sizing, and system selection under supervision
  • Coordinate with architectural, structural, electrical, and civil teams to support integrated designs
  • Support compliance with applicable codes and standards (NBCC, OBC, NECB, ASHRAE, CSA)
  • Participate in site visits, construction reviews, and commissioning activities
  • Assist with reviewing shop drawings, RFIs, and contractor submissions
  • Maintain organized project documentation and contribute to quality control processes
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering
  • Eligible for registration as an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) with Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO)
  • 0–2 years of relevant co‑op, internship, or entry‑level engineering experience an asset
  • Familiarity with Revit and/or AutoCAD is an asset
  • Strong technical aptitude, analytical skills, and willingness to learn
  • PSPC Reliability Clearance or the ability to obtain and maintain clearance is required
  • Knowledge of Canadian Design Standards and Codes
  • Valid driver’s licence and access to transportation for project requirements
