Job Summary

Development Program Officer – Jordan’s Principle unit (First Nations and Inuit Health Branch, Indigenous Services Canada). The role supports vital health services, builds relationships with First Nations and Inuit communities, and ensures efficient customer‑service response in a fast‑paced environment.

Responsibilities
  • Respond to phone inquiries and triage requests in the Jordan’s Principle unit.
  • Process and track applications or submissions against relevant policies or guidelines.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with First Nations and Inuit communities, families and individuals.
  • Provide direct support related to health services and community‑based programming.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to improve health outcomes and reduce health risks.
Qualifications
  • Education: Secondary school diploma or employer‑approved alternative (e.g., satisfactory public service commission test).
  • Experience: Customer service environment and technology proficiency (Outlook, Excel, Word); ability to manage a high‑volume workload.
  • Abilities: Effective communication (oral and written); attention to detail; ability to work effectively with Indigenous clients.
  • Personal Suitability: Dependability; working effectively with others; respect for diversity.
