Job summary

POSITION TYPE: CASUAL

  • REUNIFICATION FOSTER HOME for Large Sibling Groups - infant to 18 yrs
  • EPR REUNIFICATION HOME for Sibling groups of 3 - age infant to 12 yrs
  • SEY HOME for 3 females – age 13-17 yrs
  • 6 BED TRANSITION TO INDEPENDENT LIVING - for female youth aged 15-18
  • GRANNY’S HOMES providing respite for families from the community

Position Summary:

This position is responsible for working effectively with team members in providing all aspects of care for children placed in the home, including provision for their physical, emotional, intellectual, and social needs.

The successful candidate will meet the following conditions of employment:

  • Be legally entitled to work in Canada;
  • Produce current satisfactory background checks;
  • Valid class 5 Driver’s license preferred;
  • Be physically capable of performing all child care duties;
  • Have current First Aid and CPR Level C Certification.

Furthermore, the successful candidate will have the following qualifications:

  • Ability to genuinely and supportively care for children/youth in crisis;
  • Ability to provide guidance and supervision to the children/youth in all daily activities;
  • Understanding of Indigenous history and its impact on children and families today;
  • Ability to establish strong, positive working relationships with co-workers;
  • Experience in completing written work such as reports, forms, and logs;
  • Demonstrated ability to be punctual, organized, consistent, and to show initiative;
  • Experience in preparing nutritious meals and snacks;
  • Knowledge of the CFS system and standards related to the care of children;
