Position Summary
To support the Store Manager and manage store operations according to Company guidelines and lead Associates to ensure friendly, helpful service and drive profitable store sales.
What You’ll Do
- Drive profitable sales through achievement of sales and profit goals, budget management and sales forecasts. Proactively analyze and utilize sales/financial reports, economic trends and community needs to identify and respond to market changes while controlling expenditures.
- Create operational plans with the Management Team, prioritize, delegate and provide clear direction to Managers and Associates. Ensure optimal store conditions through effective merchandise presentation, accurate Competitive pricing and store standards within Company policies and guidelines. Implement new store programs according to Company direction while evaluating effectiveness to achieve successful results for the area the incumbent will oversee. Cross‑train to work proficiently in all areas of the Store when needed.
- Execute and monitor asset protection and safety controls; maintain quality assurance standards; oversee safety and operational reviews while ensuring compliance with Walmart policies and procedures and established safety, security, sales, financial and record keeping procedures and practices. Anticipate and proactively respond to compliance issues, including Total Loss/general controls.
- Serve customers as an ambassador by greeting customers, seeking their feedback and ensuring customer needs, complaints and issues are resolved within Company guidelines to create a positive shopping experience. Model, enforce, and provide direction to associates on friendly and helpful customer service approaches and techniques.
- Support store initiatives to serve the community by participating in and supporting community events and developing relationships with key community groups. Participate in company‑sponsored programs, events and sustainability efforts for associates and customers to emphasize the store’s role as an integral part of the community.
- Lead Associates by conducting regular store meetings and communicating operational direction and initiatives with a focus on the OMNI and the Total Store. Drive engagement, recognize and reward accomplishments and provide opportunities for professional growth. Develop all associates and identify high‑potential associates, providing training and development to increase capability.
- Demonstrate Company values by holding Associates accountable through timely, honest, specific and respectful performance feedback and corrective and disciplinary action. Build and manage relationships with supporting functions within the store and district (e.g. District HR Managers, etc.).
- Comply with all Company standards and procedures when handling all merchandise, including but not limited to alcohol, ammunition, narcotics and high‑ticket. Ensure appropriate cash controls, handling as much as two hundred and fifty thousand dollar per day.
Minimum Qualifications
- Experience in a fast‑moving, customer‑focused retail environment.
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to motivate a team of Associates.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to present information clearly.
- Knowledge of basic retail operations, loss prevention and safety procedures.
- High school diploma or equivalent. College education or retail management training preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in a Walmart store or similar retail environment.
- Advanced retail management training or certification.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a high‑volume environment.
The pay range for this position is $56,100.00 - $66,642.50. Pay will be determined based on relevant experience.
