We are seeking a Building Electrical Engineer in Training (EIT) in the Atlantic area. As a team member, you will assist in designing plans and models, perform surveys, and support the engineering team in projects across the commercial, industrial, institutional, and hospital sectors.

You will work within a dynamic environment as part of a team of engineers, technicians, and drafters on challenging projects. We encourage initiative and trust within our passionate team.

Main responsibilities

  • Assist with proposal preparation and responses to RFPs
  • Support electrical design of buildings, including electrical distribution, lighting (e.g., AGI32 calculations), fire alarm systems, etc.
  • Coordinate with mechanical team on HVAC system design
  • Assist in equipment selection
  • Help prepare technical reports and specifications
  • Contribute to construction cost estimates
  • Participate in project planning, including design and construction schedules
  • Ensure compliance with quality assurance and control programs
  • Assist with building assessments for electrical systems

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or equivalent
  • Must be an Engineer in Training (EIT) registered with a Canadian regulatory body (e.g., Engineers Nova Scotia, PEO)
  • Demonstrable experience in building electrical systems (distribution, lighting, fire alarm, HVAC)
  • Knowledge of building electrical codes and regulations
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience
  • Proficiency with Revit and AutoCAD
  • Knowledge of AGI32 lighting software (asset)
  • ASP Construction card (asset)
  • Valid driver's license
  • Proficiency in French (asset)
