Job summary
A nearshore software development company in Brazil is looking for a skilled professional to manage portal and server operations, with expertise in Java and MySQL. You will ensure reliable data operations and support integrations while working in a fast-paced, agile environment. The ideal candidate has excellent communication skills and at least 3 years of experience in relevant technologies. Immediate start is required, and you will be recognized for your contributions in a creative and dynamic team setting.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience using Java and MySQL.
- Comfortable working in CI/CD environments.
- Able to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot portal server errors and monitor AWS logs.
- Manage ETL file uploads and monitor data loads.
- Maintain and enhance custom reports using JasperReports.

- Portal & Server Management: Troubleshoot portal server errors, monitor AWS logs, and ensure report delivery.
- ETL & Data Operations: Manage ETL file uploads, monitor ongoing/completed loads, and resolve missing data issues.
- Reporting (JasperReports): Maintain and enhance custom reports, add/remove columns and filters, manage run tickets, and troubleshoot disappearing reports.
- Database Management (MySQL): Perform schema updates, optimize queries, and ensure data integrity for reporting and ETL processes.
- Integrations: Support Samsara, Geotab, and Motive integrations and data imports.
- Environment Management: Handle migrations between Alpha, Beta, and Production environments.
- Bulk Updates: Execute mass-scale changes (Tank ID, Lease Name, Account, Terminal details) and perform data cleanup.
- Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
- 3+ years of experience using Java and MySQL.
- Solid understanding of AWS logs and backend troubleshooting, preferably using CloudWatch.
- Comfortable working in CI/CD environments with Agile development practices.
- Understanding of ETL & Data Management for file uploads and load monitoring.
- Detail-oriented and highly organized with a proactive mindset.
- Able to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Trustworthy, team-oriented, and transparent.
- Experience with JasperReports.
- Prior experience using React.js.
