Description

The Opportunity

Hitachi Energy is seeking candidates to join the Hub Marketing and Sales team or the Power Transformers Product Line. The Non-Utility Regional Business Development Manager (BDM) will collaborate closely with the entire sales and marketing community across Latin America, while functionally reporting to the HUB Marketing and Sales Manager.

As a BDM, you will play a crucial role in driving growth within non-traditional and high-potential market segments by promoting and selling the HE portfolio. Your focus will be on meeting and exceeding annual sales targets while securing long-term expansion aligned with the HUB SAM growth ambition plan.

You will be responsible for generating and managing a robust pipeline of opportunities, ensuring successful conversion into orders in alignment with factory needs. Additionally, you will formulate, implement, and oversee business strategies to expand market presence, setting clear goals, developing actionable plans, and tracking measurable progress.

Collaboration is key, as you will work closely with the full MS regional community, HUB staff and factories, including BDMs, Marketing & Sales, Engineering, Operations, Quality, and Project/Contract Management. You will drive the end-to-end sales process, engaging with multiple functions across the organization—partnering with tendering teams to secure winning bids, coordinating with operations to maintain an optimized backlog, and working with technical experts to design and adapt solutions that meet customer needs.

  • Organize business development meetings and interactions with prospective customers to promote the company's value proposition.
  • Conduct market research to identify emerging opportunities, assess customer needs, and evaluate business risks.
  • Gather and translate market insights by engaging with customers, partners, and industry stakeholders to drive internal innovation.
  • Negotiate contract terms with customers and effectively communicate with key stakeholders.
  • Establish and manage strategic partnerships to support business growth and long-term success.
  • Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures and guidelines.
Your Background
  • MSc or BSc in Engineering
  • Proven experience in Sales and Marketing/Technical roles, preferably in a manufacturing, energy or industrial environment
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage timelines, and meet milestones
  • Structured and analytical thinker
  • Technical expertise in Transformers, ideally with international experience across diverse customers and product standards
  • Intercultural sensitivity
  • Ability to build rapport, take risks, embrace challenges, and maintain a forward-thinking mindset
