Job summary
A leading luxury hotel resort in Abu Dhabi is seeking an experienced Upholstery Technician responsible for repairing, restoring, and maintaining various upholstered items. Candidates should have proficiency with upholstery tools, a strong understanding of fabrics, and at least one year of relevant experience. Qualifications
- 1 year or more experience in furniture repair or upholstery is preferred.
- Ability to identify furniture issues and recommend effective solutions.

- Repair or replace damaged frames and components.
- Restore upholstery by recovering with new fabric or leather.
- Provide quotes and timelines for upholstery work.
- Inspect work for quality assurance before project completion.

An Upholstery Technician is responsible for repairing restoring and maintaining furniture and other upholstered items. They work with various materials like fabric leather foam and wood to ensure that furniture is both functional and aesthetically pleasing.
- Repair or replace damaged frames springs and other structural components.
- Restore wornout upholstery by replacing or recovering with new fabric or leather.
- Rebuild cushions and padding to restore comfort and functionality.
- Provide quotes and time estimates for upholstery work.
- Ensure that the finished product meets customer expectations in terms of quality appearance and functionality.
- Inspect all work to ensure it meets quality standards and fix any issues or defects before completing the project.
- Maintain and repair upholstery tools and equipment.
- Ensure safety protocols are followed while using machinery or tools.
- Proficient in using sewing machines staplers and other upholstery tools.
- Ability to perform precise measurements and ensure highquality finishes.
- Strong understanding of fabrics colors and design trends.
- Ability to identify issues with furniture and recommend solutions.
- Able to work with heavy furniture and perform tasks that require physical strength and endurance.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of an apprenticeship or formal training in upholstery or a related field is a plus.
- 1 year or more experience in furniture repair upholstery or a similar trade is highly preferred.
