Job Title: Senior Civil Engineer

Location: Abu Dhabi, UAE

Contract Type: 6-month Contract

Role Overview:

We are seeking a highly experienced and technically proficient Senior Civil Engineer to oversee and drive civil engineering activities for major oil and gas projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in both offshore and onshore developments, excellent team leadership skills, and a proactive approach to interdisciplinary coordination and technical delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Technical Leadership & Oversight
   • Provide technical management and mentorship to civil engineering team members, ensuring delivery of high-quality, accurate, and timely design outputs.
   • Guide work distribution, support performance improvement, and foster team development.
2. Civil Design Expertise
   • Lead development of site plans, civil layouts, and infrastructure routing studies for complex oil & gas projects.
   • Ensure alignment with project specifications, procedures, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
3. 3D Design Environment Proficiency
   • Manage civil engineering deliverables within a 3D design environment using tools such as AutoCAD Civil 3D, Revit, or similar platforms.
   • Organize and lead periodic internal 3D model reviews, ensuring design integrity and project alignment.
4. Interdisciplinary Coordination
   • Work closely with geotechnical, structural, mechanical, electrical, piping, and other engineering disciplines to ensure cohesive, integrated project delivery.
   • Address constructability and layout challenges with practical, cost-effective engineering solutions.
5. Client & Stakeholder Engagement
   • Interface with clients, vendors, and contractors in technical discussions and design clarification.
   • Participate in key project meetings including layout reviews, HAZOPs, constructability workshops, lessons learned sessions, and model reviews.
6. Quality Assurance
   • Ensure compliance with project-specific and international codes and standards.
   • Monitor engineering quality and proactively address issues to maintain high standards of performance.
7. Communication & Reporting
   • Deliver clear and concise reports, technical documentation, and presentations to project stakeholders.
   • Maintain effective communication across project teams and client interfaces.

Profile Requirements:

• Qualification: Degree in Civil Engineering.
• Experience: Minimum 12 years in civil design and engineering, with a strong track record of delivering major offshore and onshore oil & gas projects in a Lead or Area Lead role.
• Proven experience in leadership roles within civil engineering for large-scale oil & gas projects.
• Strong proficiency in 3D civil design tools (e.g., Civil 3D, Revit) and familiarity with data-driven project delivery methods.
• Demonstrated ability to manage cross-functional teams and drive complex project execution.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Flexible, solution-oriented, and highly collaborative approach to engineering challenges.
