Job Purpose

Develop, implement and execute engineering programs as well as support governance, oversight, and control of these programs to provide for safe and reliable Barakah Nuclear Power Plant (BNPP) operation.

Key Activities, Responsibility & Accountability

1. 7. Engineering Program Development
8. Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
1. Develop engineering programs in accordance with the regulatory requirements and licensing basis to support safe and reliable operation of BNPP.
2. Develop the engineering, operational, inspection, and maintenance actions that control, within acceptable design limits, the effects of physical degradation of components occurring over time or with use to optimize the length of service of the subject equipment.
3. Participate in developing long-term plans for engineering programs, as well as policies, processes, procedures, guidelines, arrangements, and activities subject equipment performance management or issues at BNPP to enable consistent execution of the programs.
4. Incorporate adjustments to engineering program documents and delivered procedures based on the reference plant or industry best practices as appropriate to verify that they meet BNPP objectives and specific unique conditions and ensure organizational excellence.
5. Develop software tools as required to support engineering programs and verify the input baseline data in the related database to ensure data security and governance.
6. Review the corresponding programs for the reference plant, Shin Kori Units 3&4, to ensure that they meet BNPP objectives and specific unique conditions.
7. Support the development of the engineering program’s procedures/guidelines as required to ensure that Maintenance and Operations personnel have references for how to execute the program correctly.
9. Engineering Program Implementation
10. Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
1. Provide technical expertise to support plant personnel in implementing the engineering program.
2. Provide support to plant personnel in gathering and communicating engineering program results to ensure accurate outcomes.
3. Implement new concepts and techniques to improve equipment reliability or compliance with changes in engineering codes and standards.
11. Engineering Program Execution
12. Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
1. Review the execution of the engineering program including monitoring equipment or material performance to verify that it is being executed properly.
2. Conduct regular assessments of the execution of the engineering program at the plants to identify areas for improvement.
3. Conduct independent research, reviews studies and analysis in support of technical projects aiming at improving the engineering program.
13. Outage and Emergency Response Organization (ERO) Support
14. Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
1. Support outage and/or the ERO, as assigned, to ensure safe, reliable and continued operations; this may require shift work/off hours support.
15. Staff Training and Qualification

1. Provide training feedback on program effectiveness with evaluation of operator performance to enhance training and qualification program.

Professional Certifications

CertificateMin: • Completion of Nawah Job Qualification Certificate or equivalent training program.

CertificateMax: • APPU-ENG-IT-QC2005-PROG

Qualifications

QualificationMin: • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering.

• 5 years of relevant experience.

QualificationMax: • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, with pressurized water reactor (PWR) nuclear engineering experience.
