Job Title: CNC Milling and Turning Programmer

Job Summary
The CNC Milling and Turning Programmer will be responsible for developing, optimizing, and validating CNC programs for milling and turning operations, including multi‑axis (up to 5-axis) machining. The role is primarily programming-focused, requiring strong expertise in SolidCAM and the ability to interpret complex engineering drawings to ensure precision, efficiency, and high-quality output.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop CNC programs for milling and turning operations using SolidCAM, including 3‑axis to 5‑axis machining.
- Create, modify, and optimize CNC programs to improve cycle time, accuracy, and tool life.
- Interpret and work from engineering drawings, blueprints, and CAD models to generate accurate machining programs.
- Select appropriate cutting tools, fixtures, and machining strategies based on material and job requirements.
- Simulate programs to identify and eliminate errors before production.
- Support production teams during first‑off trials and resolve programming‑related issues.
- Ensure programs comply with quality standards, safety guidelines, and machining best practices.
- Maintain and update program documentation and revision control.
- Collaborate with design engineering and shop‑floor teams to ensure manufacturability and efficiency.
Essential Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
- 35 years of hands‑on experience in CNC milling and turning programming.
- Proven experience using SolidCAM for milling and turning applications (up to 5 axes).
- Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints (mandatory).
Required Skills
- Advanced knowledge of SolidCAM programming for milling and turning operations.
- Strong understanding of CNC machining processes, tooling, feeds, and speeds.
- Experience with multi‑axis machining (3‑axis, 4‑axis, and 5‑axis).
- Knowledge of different materials and machining techniques.
- High attention to detail and accuracy in programming.
- Problem‑solving skills to troubleshoot machining and program‑related issues.
- Good communication and coordination skills to work with cross‑functional teams.
