• Responsible for performance of all Medicine Services and procedures with appropriate physicians, technicians and nurses in the section to achieve high quality results.
• Checking of anesthesia machine and other anesthesia equipment.
• Participate in training of junior staff, CME and seminars.
• Work and liaise with anesthesia consultant, specialists, technicians, nurses and medical staff to maintain the highest professional standards.
• Assist the head of the department in coordinating department activities and providing accurate, timely treatment of diseases in compliance with the quality management system.

• Actively participates in upholding and promoting the vision and culture of University Hospital Sharjah.
• Complies with all UHS policies and procedures, fire, health and safety regulations.
• Daily checking of anesthesia machine and flexline cart (for anesthesia consumables and medications). Adequate par level of supplies and medication should be maintained.
• Read emails daily for OR list. Assigned room and schedule of operation should be checked prior to the operation. Set up equipment for induction of anesthesia in the operating room, anesthesia medication and consumables appropriate for age.
• Night duty technician should coordinate with the night OR staff for the cases the following day for any additional or early cases.
• After each procedure, equipment is cleaned and contaminated items should be disposed in accordance with the infection control. Restock the room and order supplies as needed.
• Narcotic and controlled medication checklist should be signed before receiving the medication and after all surgeries are done with the used ampoule and medication in the presence of the nurse in charge of the narcotic and controlled medication.
• Endorsement should be done before exchanging shift especially for narcotic and controlled medication.

• Anesthesia technician should take an inventory to ensure all necessary supplies are in stock.
• They should be the one to request and receive from the store. Once supplies arrives, the anesthesia technician should be the one placing the sticks in the clean core area so everything can be easily accessed.

• Monthly checking of anesthesia consumable/medications expiration.
• Overseeing the cleaning of open and closed anesthesia consumable shelves.

• Bachelors degree
• Minimum of 3 years experience

• MOH Registered
• BLS certification

• Strong problem solving skills

• Computer skills (HIS, Excel, Word etc…)
