Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Project Manager to lead heavy load transportation and lifting operations involving hydraulic trailers, modular axles, cranes, and SPMTs. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the full lifecycle of specialized transport and lifting projects, from planning and permitting to execution and close-out, ensuring safety, efficiency, and client satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the complete execution of heavy transport and lifting projects, ensuring delivery within schedule, budget, and safety parameters.
- Lead cross-functional teams, including internal staff and third-party contractors, for seamless coordination across all project stages.
- Serve as the main point of contact for clients, operations, and subcontractors to ensure alignment and transparency.
- Plan and execute the transport of heavy and over-dimensional loads using hydraulic trailers, modular axles, and SPMTs.
- Conduct detailed route surveys, coordinate permit acquisition, and ensure road and bridge assessments meet transport requirements.
- Oversee critical lifting operations involving cranes, gantries, jacking systems, and other heavy-lift equipment.
- Approve and review lifting plans, method statements, and risk assessments in collaboration with engineering and HSE teams.
- Monitor on-site equipment, ensure proper load distribution, and assess ground stability for lifting and transport operations.
- Ensure all lifting gear and equipment are certified and inspected by third parties as per industry standards.
- Coordinate with structural and civil engineers to evaluate lifting areas, crane pads, and equipment placement.
- Maintain accurate project documentation, including transport plans, lifting records, inspection reports, and incident logs.
- Conduct training and toolbox talks related to lifting, rigging, and slinging best practices.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, and operational excellence.
- Manage risks proactively, addressing and escalating issues as needed with a solution-focused approach.
- Ensure full compliance with local regulations, legal requirements, and safety standards.
Desired Candidate Profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Automobile, Mechatronics, or Structural Engineering.
- Minimum 7–10 years of experience in heavy lifting and transport project management.
- Certifications: LEEA Level 1 (minimum) with knowledge of Legal Legislations and Shipping Terminologies.
