Responsibilities

• Collect and prepare blood, tissue, and other specimens for testing and analysis.
• Conduct lab tests ranging from routine simple tests to complex high-tech analyses.
• Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot a wide variety of laboratory equipment and instruments.
• Ensure accuracy and validity of test results by performing quality control procedures.
• Document test results in patient records and laboratory databases accurately.
• Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to interpret test results.
• Maintain laboratory safety and cleanliness according to established guidelines.
• Follow protocols to prevent contamination and ensure patient confidentiality is maintained.
• Participate in the development and implementation of new laboratory procedures.
• Stay updated with the latest laboratory technology advances and procedures.
• Assist in the training and mentoring of new staff and interns.
• Communicate effectively with team members and contribute to team objectives seamlessly.

Requirements

• An associate degree in medical laboratory technology or a related field is required.
• Certification as a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) is preferred or required based on state regulations.
• Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy in test results.
• Excellent knowledge of laboratory testing techniques and best practices.
• Proficient in the use of laboratory equipment and computerized data entry systems.
• Ability to manage time efficiently and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication skills to effectively convey information and collaborate with team members.
