Job summary
A leading engineering management firm in the UAE is looking for an experienced Freelance E&I Inspector to conduct and verify Software Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) for Electrical & Instrumentation systems. Responsibilities include reviewing FAT reports, coordinating with engineering teams during FAT activities, and ensuring compliance with client standards. Candidates must have a relevant engineering degree and substantial experience in E&I systems testing. A UAE own/freelance visa is required.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as an E&I Inspector in Oil & Gas or Industrial projects.
- Strong hands-on experience in Software FAT DCS and ESD application checks.
- Good knowledge of E&I systems and FAT best practices.
Responsibilities
- Witness and inspect Software FAT activities for E&I systems.
- Verify FAT procedures and acceptance criteria against project specifications.
- Coordinate with vendors and engineering teams during FAT activities.

Orbit International Survey Services (Orbit ISS) is seeking an experienced Freelance E&I Inspector with strong exposure to Software Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) activities. The role involves inspecting verifying and witnessing FAT activities for Electrical & Instrumentation systems to ensure full compliance with project specifications functional requirements and client standards prior to system deployment.
- Witness and inspect Software FAT activities for Electrical & Instrumentation systems.
- Perform DCS software FAT application checks verifying logic control functions alarms and HMI graphics.
- Conduct ESD software FAT application checks ensuring proper implementation of safety logic shutdown sequences interlocks and cause & effect requirements.
- Execute comprehensive software FAT checks including logic validation alarm testing sequence testing and system integration checks.
- Verify FAT procedures test scripts and acceptance criteria against project specifications.
- Identify record and follow up on FAT punch items and non-conformances.
- Coordinate with vendors engineering teams and client representatives during FAT activities.
- Review and verify FAT reports test records and final acceptance documentation.
- Ensure all FAT activities comply with applicable standards project requirements and client expectations.
- Diploma or Bachelors degree in Electrical Instrumentation or Control Engineering or a related discipline.
- Proven experience as an E&I Inspector Oil & Gas Energy or Industrial projects.
- Strong hands‑on experience in Software FAT DCS application checks & Software FAT ESD application checks
- General software FAT verification and testing
- Good knowledge of E&I systems automation workflows and FAT best practices.
- Strong documentation reporting and coordination skills.
- Must have UAE own/freelance visa.
