Job summary
A leading firm in Dubai is seeking an experienced Chief Accountant to oversee the accounting department. The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 7 years of progressive accounting experience and strong leadership skills. Responsibilities include managing financial operations, preparing financial statements, and ensuring compliance with regulations. A bachelor's degree in accounting or finance and proficiency in SAP is required.

- In-depth understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and financial reporting standards.
Responsibilities
- Oversee all accounting operations including Billing, A/R, A/P, GL, Cost Accounting.
- Prepare monthly and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
- Develop and manage annual budgets and financial plans.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and government reporting requirements.
- Establish and enforce proper accounting methods and policies.
- Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting and liaise with external auditors.

We are looking for a highly skilled Chief Accountant to oversee our client's accounting department. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in accounting, a keen eye for detail,
- Financial Management: Oversee all accounting operations including Billing, A/R, A/P, GL, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting, and Revenue Recognition.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP or other relevant standards.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Develop and manage annual budgets, forecasts, and financial plans.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with local, state, and government reporting requirements and tax filings.
- Internal Controls: Establish and enforce proper accounting methods, policies, and principles; improve systems and procedures to enhance the financial integrity of the organization.
- Audit Coordination: Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting and liaise with external auditors to ensure successful audit results and compliance.
- Coordination with international Head Office
- Education: Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CMA certification preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 7 years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership roles.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software SAP and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Knowledge: In-depth understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and financial reporting standards.
- Soft Skills: Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Experience in Food service, Retail or FMCGindustries will be a plus
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to make sound decisions based on accurate analysis.
