The Pain Management Consultant focuses on the assessment and treatment of acute and chronic pain conditions across pediatric and adult populations within a multidisciplinary, patient‑centered team. The role combines outpatient and inpatient care, interventional and non‑interventional pain therapies, participation in specialty pain clinics, and involvement in education and clinical research.

1. Basic medical degree from recognized institution
2. Post‑qualification certification
   • Qualification Source from: North America, Western Europe, Australia or New Zealand.
     • USA: The American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS)
     • Canada: Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons Certificate (RCPS-C)
     • UK and Ireland: GMC/CCST Specialist Register
     • Australia and New Zealand: Fellowship from the Royal College (FRACP)
     • Western Europe: Equivalent certification to the above

• Minimum of two (2) years of experience post‑board/equivalent certification in Austria, Australia, Canada, Finland, France, Germany, Iceland, Ireland (CCST), United Kingdom (CCT) Luxembourg, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Sweden OR Switzerland,
• Sub‑Specialties: Minimum of two (2) years of experience post‑sub‑specialty certification in Austria, Australia, Canada, Finland, France, Germany, Iceland, Ireland, Luxembourg, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Sweden, Switzerland, or the UK.
• Minimum of five (5) years of experience after obtaining the main specialty qualification in United Kingdom (CESR), Portugal, Spain, or Italy.
• Sub‑Specialties: Minimum of four (4) years of experience after obtaining the sub‑specialty qualification in Portugal, Spain, or Italy.

Current and in a Good Standing Medical License to practice in country of residence.

• Assess, diagnose, and manage acute, chronic, and cancer‑related pain conditions using evidence‑based approaches.
• Provide inpatient and outpatient consultations, follow‑up care, and long‑term pain management plans.
• Perform and oversee interventional pain procedures, including nerve blocks, injections, and other image‑guided techniques, as appropriate to scope of practice.
• Prescribe, review, and monitor pharmacological pain therapies, including opioid and non‑opioid medications, in line with clinical guidelines.
• Develop individualized, multidisciplinary pain management plans tailored to each patient’s condition, function, and goals.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, oncologists, physiotherapists, psychologists, and other specialists to deliver coordinated care.
• Manage complex pain cases, including postoperative pain, neuropathic pain, and pain related to chronic medical conditions.
• Educate patients and families on pain management strategies, medication use, risks, and self‑management techniques.
• Supervise, mentor, and support junior doctors, residents, and fellows within the pain management service.
• Participate in clinical research, teaching activities, and quality improvement initiatives within the department.
• Maintain accurate medical records and comply with hospital policies, patient safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
