We are now looking for another team mate to join us in Ras Al Khaimah as Quality – Lab Technician (Plasterboard).

As a Quality Lab Technician for plasterboard, you will be responsible for monitoring and ensuring product quality throughout the production process. This includes analyzing samples at various production stages, maintaining ISO documentation, and reporting quality parameters daily. You will conduct lab tests to meet international and company standards, evaluate raw materials, and propose process improvements to maintain quality standards. Additionally, you will coordinate with the production team, perform competitor product analysis, and ensure compliance with safety, 5S, and Continuous Improvement (CI) practices. Maintaining a clean and organized workspace and contributing to process enhancements are key aspects of this role.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Read production plan and make yourself aware about the last production trends via shift report, mixer report, dryer temperature, product quality and recipe in advance, to evaluate the production specifications and discuss with the team before starting up.
- Ensure and monitor the product quality standard in the Line and Inside Laboratory.
- Take sample and analyse quality parameters at each step through the process (Calcination station, Mizer station, Shehear station, Take off station) and Joint Compound process.
- Fill the necessary ISO documents at each station and report any quality issues.
- Enter the shift report in the excel file for each product on daily basis and ensure the soft copy and hard copy are matching.
- Every new start up and/or major adjustments in recipe, double check the shear parameters (wet bonding, dimensions and weight).
- Reporting all quality details in the shift report daily.
- Propose changes in recipe and process to ensure quality standard.
- Recheck the quality of hold pallets like start-up pallets, trial pallets, etc.
- Rechecking of randomly selected pallets together with shift leader to ensure appearance of the board.
- Recording all trails, experiment data and test results.
- Control all supplied raw materials according to the quality standard.
- All monthly tests must be carried out till the beginning of the following month.
- Performance of lab test according to different test methods like Breaking load, core Cohesion, water absorption etc. to ensure the given specification by the international standard as well as for Knauf standard are achieved.
- Test and analyse competitor products.
- Pallets which will be reclaimed from logistics department need to be checked and confirmed before hand over to production.
- Coordinate with production team for drop test for dry and liquid additives after every new line start (after shutdown).
- Income material control (Buckets, Line stone, Additives, etc.)
- Organising and storing chemicals/additives according to safety instruction.
- Follow up with production team (Joint compound) to follow quality and process parameters.
- Observe and monitor equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation.
- Attendance is required of one of the 3 level meetings of Continuous Improvement (CI).
- Maintain and follow Continuous Improvement (CI).
- Ensure weekly 5s audit.
- Ensure to keep his/her workplace clean after each shift.
- Maintain and follow 5S in all workstations or any such improvement plans as decided by the company.
- Ensure K-values culture.
- Share and submit your improvement ideas via Kaizen forms.

- Minimum 3 years’ experience.
- Education qualification: Min Diploma.

- Good math and computer application proficiency (MS Office).
- Open to working flexible shifts.
- Capable of performing occasional heavy lifting as needed.
