Job summary

A leading firm in engineering and construction is seeking a Senior Commercial Manager to join its Abu Dhabi team for a major aviation project. In this role, you'll provide strategic direction, develop commercial strategies, manage contracts, and oversee project budgets to ensure successful project execution. The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's in Quantity Surveying and at least 10 years of experience in commercial management within infrastructure construction. Strong leadership and negotiation skills are essential.

Job Description:

Parsons are looking for a talented Senior Commercial Manager to join our Abu Dhabi team and support on a major aviation project.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Provide strategic direction and leadership for all commercial activities across the project.
  • Develop and implement commercial strategies to achieve project objectives and maximize value.
  • Review Contractor's and Client's Change requests.
  • Oversee the preparation, negotiation, and administration of contracts with contractors, suppliers, and consultants.
  • Ensure compliance with contractual terms and conditions, including managing claims, variations, and disputes.
  • Provide expert advice on contract interpretation and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Lead the development and management of project budgets, ensuring alignment with financial goals.
  • Monitor project costs and implement robust cost control measures to prevent overruns.
  • Prepare detailed financial reports, forecasts, and cost analysis for senior management and stakeholders.
  • Manage procurement processes, including tendering, bid evaluations, and vendor selection.
  • Ensure procurement activities align with project requirements and organizational policies.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and contractors to ensure optimal performance.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate commercial risks throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Develop contingency plans to address potential financial and contractual challenges.
  • Lead and mentor the commercial team, fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence.
  • Provide training and guidance to team members to enhance their skills and performance.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and consultants, to ensure alignment on commercial matters.
  • Represent the project in commercial discussions and negotiations with stakeholders.
  • Ensure adherence to legal, regulatory, and contractual requirements.
  • Prepare and present comprehensive commercial reports to stakeholders and senior management.
What Required Skills You’ll Bring
