Overview

We are looking for a talented Business Development Specialist to join our team specializing in Sales for our Power Generation Department in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways :

  • Identify High-Potential Opportunities: You'll play a key role in spotting new business opportunities by analyzing market data, trends, and customer insights—helping the team focus on the most promising segments.

  • Bridge Strategy and Execution: By collaborating with Marketing and Sales leadership, you'll help translate strategic goals into actionable business development initiatives that drive growth in specific markets or product lines.

  • Enhance Market Intelligence: Your research and attendance at industry events will deepen the organization’s understanding of customer needs, competitor activity, and emerging trends—informing smarter decisions.

  • Support Targeted Prospecting: You'll identify and research specific local business opportunities and target accounts, laying the groundwork for successful customer engagement and sales conversion.

  • Develop Strategic Account Plans: By supporting the creation of tailored account plans, you'll help align Cummins’ offerings with the unique needs and buying processes of key prospects.

  • Drive Proposal Development: Your involvement in crafting compelling business proposals will help position Cummins as a preferred partner, showcasing the value and differentiation of its solutions.

  • Facilitate Smooth Sales Handoffs: When new accounts are secured, your detailed knowledge of the customer will ensure a seamless transition to Account Managers, preserving relationship momentum.

  • Mentor and Motivate Team Members: By sharing your insights and supporting less experienced colleagues, you'll contribute to a stronger, more capable business development team.

Responsibilities

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

  • Operational Excellence & Accuracy: Ensure daily process tasks are completed efficiently, orders are placed accurately with all system updates, and data hygiene is maintained for deals and offers. Attention to detail and consistency are critical.

  • Stakeholder & Distributor Engagement: Proactively support distributors and end customers with timely responses, maintain strong communication with factories, and conduct regular pipeline reviews and segment updates to keep all stakeholders aligned and satisfied.

  • Market & Product Insight: Use market sensing tools and platforms to analyze competition, optimize pricing strategies, and push the right products based on customer needs and competitive landscape. This includes Level 1 demand forecasting and strategic product positioning.

  • Pipeline & System Management: Leverage Salesforce to track pipeline performance, monitor high-probability opportunities, and analyze lost deals. Ensure all orders are on order books (OB) with correct pricing and details and continuously seek ways to improve lead times (LT).

Qualifications

Education/ Experience

  • Person should be based in UAE (no relocation from different countries).

  • Must be fluency in French & English is mandatory.

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in Power Generation.

  • College, university, or equivalent degree in engineering, marketing, sales, technical or a related subject required, or an acceptable combination of education and experience.
