The purpose of this position is to assist in the workshop to assemble and repair batteries in a cost‑efficient manner by using the correct equipment, to the required industry and safety standards and assist with other duties.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical/mechanical assistance to technicians/mechanics as required.


• Assist with adjustment, maintenance, part replacement and repair of equipment/machines.


• Carry out minor repairs as instructed.


• Assist with stripping/disassembly of equipment for checks, quotes and repairs, and re‑assembly.


• Clean and lubricate machinery, vehicles, equipment, and tools.


• General cleaning of parts and equipment.


• Maintain cleanliness and neatness of work area, store, and yard area – housekeeping, cleaning oil spills, etc.


• Provide general physical assistance to technicians/mechanics/supervisor when requested.


• Charge and change over batteries.


• Inspect, clean and test batteries and chargers.


• Work efficiently and safely, operating equipment, hand power tools and specialized hand tools correctly.


• Perform additional tasks as required by the technician.
