Job description

Responsibilities

• Welding and hot work as instructed by the Boilermaker Foreman.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience

• Must be qualified with a valid trade test certificate.
• Work experience of at least 5 years in the marine industry.
• Knowledge of metallurgy.
• Repair machinery with different welding techniques.
• Set up components for welding.
• Ability and acumen to work independently, read blueprints and understand drawings.
• Ability to take and read measurements.
• Strong welding background and knowledge of welding procedures.
• Ability to operate machinery, power tools and equipment.
• Knowledge of materials used in welding jobs and steel structures of a vessel and certain jobs.
• Good knowledge of health and safety.
• Attention to detail, good problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
