Job description

We have an opportunity available in Johannesburg for a Warehouse Manager who will be mainly responsible for the overall operation and management of the warehouse department, ensuring efficient and orderly storage and circulation of goods.

Candidates are expected to be able to perform the following: Overall warehouse operation: be responsible for the daily management of the warehouse, including but not limited to the warehousing, storage, inventory, and outbound of goods, ensure smooth operation process, complete various work tasks on time, and ensure efficient and accurate storage and circulation of goods.

Inventory management and optimization: monitor inventory levels in real time, conduct inventory analysis based on sales data, procurement plans, etc., and plan cargo positions reasonably.

Team management and development: establish, train and manage the warehouse team, clarify the job responsibilities of each position, formulate and implement the performance appraisal system, motivate employees to improve work efficiency and quality, regularly carry out team building activities, enhance team cohesion, cultivate and select outstanding talents, and reserve strength for the company’s development.

Process optimization and system construction: continuously optimise the warehouse operation process, introduce advanced management concepts and technical means (such as WMS system), and improve the automation and information level of warehouse operations; formulate and improve warehouse management systems, operating specifications and work standards to ensure that all work has rules to follow and meets the company’s management requirements and industry standards.

Safety and quality control: Establish and implement warehouse safety management system, strengthen safety training for employees, conduct regular safety inspections and hidden danger inspections, ensure that warehouse fire prevention, anti‑theft, moisture prevention and other safety measures are in place; strictly control the quality of goods storage, prevent goods from being damaged and deteriorating, and promptly handle and feedback quality problems to relevant departments.

Cross‑departmental communication and collaboration: Maintain close communication with procurement, sales, logistics and other departments, obtain business demand information in a timely manner, coordinate and solve problems in the receipt, delivery and distribution of goods, ensure smooth coordination of upstream and downstream supply chains, and provide strong support for the company’s business development.

Data analysis and reporting: Regularly collect, organise and analyse warehouse‑related data, such as inventory turnover rate, in‑and‑out warehouse accuracy, warehouse cost, etc., form reports and analysis reports, provide data basis for the company’s management decision‑making, put forward reasonable suggestions, and promote the improvement of the company’s warehouse management level.

Candidates need to have at least a college degree or above, majors in logistics management, warehousing management, supply chain management, etc. are preferred. More than 5 years of experience in warehousing management, experience in large warehouse management or warehousing management in mining companies, logistics companies and other industries is preferred.

Basic salary of between R 30000.00 to R 60000.00 on offer and negotiable with benefits to be discussed.
