Job summary

A healthcare provider in South Africa is seeking a Ward Clerk for its Cardiac High Care unit. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating administrative needs, managing stock, and performing patient billing. Applicants should have at least 2 years of experience in an administrative role, preferably in a hospital setting, and possess strong computer literacy. Relevant knowledge of hospital systems and excellent communication skills are essential. Flexible candidates who can manage multiple tasks will thrive in this role.

Qualifications

  • At least 2-year experience in an administrative/ stock controller capacity, preferably in a hospital.
  • Excellent computer literacy across multiple platforms including Word and Excel.
  • Knowledge of hospital systems would be an advantage.

A vacancy exists for a Ward Clerk in Cardiac High Care at Entabeni Hospital. Reporting to the Unit Manager, the successful candidate should be able to coordinate administrative needs for the manager, as well as unit stock management and control.

Critical Outputs
  • Proven ability to communicate and interact with all levels of personnel with tact and diplomacy
  • Flexibility in judgment to assess and deal judiciously with multiple, competing work demands
  • Maintain schedules and calendars. Plan and organize meetings & coordinate external visitors
  • Sound knowledge of medical stock, and billing
  • Perform secretarial and stocks controller’s duties as per job description.
  • Good Telephone Etiquette.
  • Perform administrative support including ordering supplies and patient billing.
  • Must be able to work with high value products and accuracy with regards to billing.
Requirements
  • At least 2-year experience in an administrative/ stock controller capacity, (Hospital experience Will be an added advantage)
  • Matric
  • Excellent Computer literacy (word, excel, PowerPoint, email, Microsoft etc)
  • Knowledge of hospital systems( e.g. SAP, Impilo,etc) will be an advantage
