The Volunteer Coordinator / Social Media Manager is responsible for managing all aspects of volunteer engagement and camp operations from initial enquiry to volunteer departure. This role ensures volunteers have a smooth enriching experience while maintaining Researchs online presence across social media platforms and the website.
Key Responsibilities
Volunteer Management
- Manage the full volunteer booking process including enquiries, applications, confirmations, and departures.
- Coordinate volunteer orientation induction and training schedules.
- Maintain accurate records of volunteer attendance, feedback and performance.
- Ensure compliance with health safety and organisational policies at all times.
Camp Operations
- Oversee the day‑to‑day running of the volunteer camp including logistics, accommodation and meal planning.
- Coordinate schedules for research activities, fieldwork and educational sessions.
- Act as primary contact for volunteers on‑site resolving issues promptly and professionally.
Social Media & Online Presence
- Plan schedule and create engaging content for this reserves Researchs social media channels.
- Monitor and respond to social media engagement in a timely and professional manner.
- Update and maintain website content related to volunteer programs and research projects.
- Collaborate with team members to produce multimedia content including photos and videos to showcase volunteer activities.
Requirements
- Experience in volunteer coordination, event management or hospitality.
- Strong social media and content creation skills including familiarity with platforms such as Instagram, Facebook and TikTok.
- Excellent communication, organisation and problem‑solving abilities.
- Ability to multitask and work independently in a remote or camp‑based environment.
- Basic understanding of wildlife conservation or research practices preferred.
Benefits
