Job Summary

The Material Planner is responsible for ensuring the timely availability of materials and components required for production while optimizing inventory levels and minimizing costs. This role involves collaborating with various departments, including procurement, production, and physical logistics, to develop and maintain effective material planning strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with suppliers to ensure material availability and resolve any supply chain issues.
  • Monitor production schedules and adjust material plans accordingly to meet changing demands.
  • Conduct regular reviews of inventory and material usage to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
  • Prepare reports on material availability, inventory levels, and production schedules for management review.
  • Responsible for checking the correctness of EDI releases sent out weekly.
  • Master data maintenance on new, run out and future parts.
  • Responsibility to reduce any obsolete materials by checking and investigating of flashability, sellback, deviations, etc.
  • Coordination of supplier agreements within the scope of the customer ordering process, and assurance of the correct supply date and supply method.
  • Responsibility for smooth transitions of change management implementation and support therefore by ensuing that the correct parts are available on the right date.
  • Lead, coordinate and participate in continuous improvement projects that have impact on material planning processes.
  • Participate in cross-functional teams to support new product introductions and process improvements.

Qualifications:

  • National diploma or degree in IT, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain or Logistics.
  • 2+ years of experience in Material Planning and Transportation.
  • 2+ years of experience in logistics operations.
  • Proficient knowledge and experience in JIX concepts and systems.
  • Proficient knowledge and experience in SAP, MM module, SRM, PS-BOM HUB.
  • Knowledge of inventory management principles and practices.
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles is a plus.
  • Strong communication skills to collaborate with internal teams and external suppliers.
  • Attention to detail to ensure accuracy in planning and reporting
