Job description
ABOUT NOA

NOA is an integrated renewable energy independent power producer, established to provide its customers with innovative and flexible solutions on their journey towards ‘Net Zero’ emissions and low-cost clean energy - by wheeling the energy generated by utility scale solar and wind generation facilities, augmented by battery energy storage systems.

PURPOSE

NOA’s Optimisation, Operations & Maintenance (OOM) team is seeking a Technical Analyst with a strong passion for renewable energy and a deep interest in technical performance and optimisation of generation assets. As a Technical Analyst, you will apply your technical, analytical and problem-solving skills to monitor and analyse operational data across our fleet of generators. Your key focus areas will be:

  • Continuously assessing plant performance to identify improvement opportunities;
  • Forecasting generation capacity for the Trading team; and
  • Providing regular performance insights and reports (daily, weekly, and monthly) to the business.

You will also act as a junior project manager, supporting the delivery of optimisation initiatives and small-scale upgrade projects across our existing assets.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Monitor Asset Performance: Continuously track the operational performance of our renewable energy assets (e.g. solar, wind, BESS) using SCADA and other monitoring platforms.
  • Data Analysis & Reporting: Analyse plant-level and fleet-level data to identify performance deviations, trends, and improvement opportunities. Prepare and distribute daily, weekly, and monthly performance reports.
  • Performance Optimisation: Investigate underperformance issues and support root cause analysis. Propose and track corrective actions or optimisation initiatives to improve asset efficiency and availability.
  • Forecasting & Modelling: Support the development of short-term and long-term generation forecasts for the Trading team. Collaborate with data science or analytics teams to refine predictive models.
  • Support Maintenance Strategy: Work closely with on-site O&M partners and the OOM team to track maintenance schedules and ensure timely execution of preventive and corrective activities. Analyse maintenance data to support reliability improvements.
  • Project Support & Implementation: Act as a junior project manager or technical coordinator for small-scale upgrade projects, system enhancements, or optimisation initiatives. Maintain accurate records of asset performance, interventions, and project activities.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate with the internal Assets-, Trading-, and Commercial teams to ensure alignment between technical operations and business objectives.
  • Technology Integration: Assist in evaluating and implementing new tools, platforms, and technologies for better asset monitoring, data management, and optimisation.
  • Continuous Improvement: Contribute to the development and refinement of internal processes, performance benchmarks, and best practices for renewable energy O&M.
  • Participate in ongoing proceedings related to tariffs and market mechanisms to inform and update our modelling and design processes.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
  • Education: BSc, BEng or BTech (any discipline)
  • Experience: 3 to 5 years of working experience in a relevant role will be considered.
  • Experience with Utility Scale Solar PV, BESS and Wind data analysis or modelling, project design and/or implementation experience. An understanding of energy consumption patterns and energy tariffs will be an advantage.
TECHNICAL COMPETENCE
  • Experience working with data and the ability to synthesize and present results clearly and concisely for decision-making purposes.
  • Sound understanding of basic financial modelling and financial concepts.
  • Proficiency in utilizing various software products, including Microsoft Office suite with advanced Excel or spreadsheet modelling skills.
  • Experience with programming (Python or similar) and working with SQL or databases will be an advantage.
BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCE
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with a knack for conveying technical solutions to diverse audiences effectively.
  • Ability to plan, prioritise and self-organise.
  • Flexibility to thrive in a dynamic, high growth business environment.

Please note that preference will be given to candidates in line with NOA’s diversity and inclusion policies.
