Qualifications

  • 3 years’ demonstrated experience in the supervision of the assembly process.
  • 2 years’ demonstrated experience in people management.
  • 2 years' demonstrated experience in an automated explosives environment.

To be directly accountable for the assembly process; including time and attendance management; adherence to basis of safety and legal requirements; provision of raw materials; also ensuring standard quality is applied to all the processes.

The purpose of the Shift Supervisor is to lead & supervise a team members. To be directly accountable for the assembly process; including time and attendance management; adherence to basis of safety and legal requirements; provision of raw materials; also ensuring standard quality is applied to all the processes.

Qualifications
  • Grade 12 or equivalent
Experience
  • 3 years’ demonstrated experience in the supervision of the assembly process i.e. provision of raw materials, adherence to quality standards as well as safety and legal requirements
  • 2 years’ demonstrated experience in people management
  • 2 years' demonstrated experience in an automated explosives environment
Duties

Managing aspects and meeting target in the following areas of responsibility for the shift/team under supervision:

Safety
  • Reporting without delay any safety risks or incidents
  • Adherence to safety procedures
Time & Attendance management
  • Accurate recording of employee’s time sheets
  • Correct recording of leave and overtime
Production productivity/Process
  • Regular reporting on KPI’s
  • Supervisor to be hands‑on in the production process to ensure targets are met
Material productivity
  • Ensure raw material usage variance is within tolerable limits
  • Ensure monthly stock counts are conducted accurately
  • Timely reporting of deviations in raw material usage
Quality
  • Ensuring minimum quality standards are maintained
  • Ensuring that quality inspections are done on incoming raw material
  • Ensuring packaged finished goods released according to applicable standards and specifications
  • Timeous reporting of deviations in product quality
People productivity including training and leave planning
  • Ensuring overtime remains within legal limits
  • Ensuring all employees are adequately trained as per training requirements
  • Ensuring adherence to all company policies
  • Ensuring corrective disciplinary actions are taken according to company policies
Adherence to sound SHERQ principles
  • Assisting in the review of procedures
Adherence to Production schedule

Timeous reporting on possible short supply of finished goods
