Overview

Starke Ayres is a leading supplier of premium agricultural products across Africa. We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Receiving / Dispatch Clerk to ensure the accurate receipt, storage, and timely dispatch of goods in line with customer and operational requirements.

Responsibilities
  • Dispatch & Route Planning
    • Plan and capture delivery routes on SAMIS and manage route debriefings
    • Arrange dispatches using company vehicles, couriers, and subcontractors
    • Schedule delivery appointments with COD customers
    • Ensure all dispatch documentation is accurately completed and processed
    • Monitor driver overtime and report excessive hours to management
  • Receiving of Goods
    • Verify goods received against supplier delivery notes and transfer documentation
    • Inspect goods to ensure compliance with quality and quantity requirements
    • Record and report discrepancies to the Depot Manager or Supervisor
    • Ensure goods are transferred to secure storage areas once verified
  • Proof of Delivery & COD Control
    • Ensure all deliveries are supported by fully completed and signed PODs
    • Match PODs to invoices and ensure correct filing
    • Track COD payments and record payment status on trip sheets and invoices
    • Loading, Off-loading & Warehouse Support
      • Plan and request labour requirements for loading and off-loading activities
      • Supervise the loading and off-loading of delivery vehicles
      • Ensure orders are checked for accuracy prior to dispatch
  • Stock Control & Systems
    • Capture stock receipts and internal transfers on SAMIS
    • Perform weekly ad hoc stock checks and report discrepancies
    • Assist with bi-annual stock takes
  • General & Operational Duties
    • Maintain warehouse security, cleanliness, and orderliness at all times
    • Adhere to security and safety procedures to protect stock and facilities
    • Support team members as required once own tasks are completed
    • Perform ad hoc duties as directed by the Depot Manager or Supervisor
Requirements

Qualifications

  • National Senior Certificate / Grade 12 (essential)
  • Diploma in Warehousing or Logistics (advantageous)
  • Experience
    • Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Receiving / Dispatch Assistant or in a similar warehouse role
