- To develop, execute and maintain Data Governance related framework, policies, standards and controls in line with leading practices, regulations and Capitec requirements.
- To support Management in driving the implementation and adoption of policies, procedures and standards to ensure that data is used and maintained correctly across the Enterprise.
- To contribute specialist expertise towards the compliance and governance of Data Governance activities (query management, monitoring, and reporting) to regulatory and industry standards.
- To be the key liaison for data governance related control and policy related queries throughout the business.
Experience
Minimum:
- At least 5 – 7 years’ proven technical experience in;
- Project and task planning and execution at a large scale within a complex and dynamic environment
- Collaborating with stakeholders to deliver complex Data Services projects
- Working with one or more of the Data Governance and Data Management Portfolios
- Proven experience in developing and maintaining corporate policies and standards
- Experience in stakeholder management at all levels
- Proven experience in writing skills, with the ability to create clear requirements, specifications and documentation
- Demonstrated experience in communicating and embedding information, business processes and system-wide changes to a technical and non-technical audience
- Demonstrated consulting skills, with change management concepts and strategies, including communication, culture change and performance measurement system design
Ideal:
- Experience preferably gained in a financial environment
- Practical experience in applying Agile way of working methodologies

Knowledge
Minimum:
- Data Product Life Cycle.
- Understanding of end-to-end D&A environments, including Data Governance & Management, Data Warehouse, and Business Intelligence.
- Industry leading data governance and management practices (including DAMA-DMBOK principles).
- General understanding of information technology, security, marketing and communication practices, IP and digital transformation
- Sound knowledge of POPIA, PAIA, GDPR
Ideal:
- Knowledge of data and analytics within the banking or finance industry
- Knowledge of risk data architecture and technology solutions
- Industry leading Data Governance and Management practices
- Formulation of Data Governance and Management metrics
- Data visualisation of Data Governance and management KPIs
- Information systems and information system architecture
- Workflow and process re-engineering
- TOGAF (Data Security and Access Management)
- Knowledge of Cloud and on-premises data solutions (AWS preferred)
- ISF Framework (Data Security and Access Management Knowledge of data and analytics within the banking or finance industry
