Sous Chef
Role Overview

The Sous Chef supports the Executive Sous Chef and Executive Chef in the daily running of the lodge kitchen. The role focuses on supervising kitchen staff, maintaining food quality and consistency, and ensuring guests receive a high standard of dining across all meal services.

Reports To: Executive Sous Chef / Executive Chef

Key Responsibilities
Kitchen Operations
  • Assist with the daily operation of the kitchen
  • Supervise line cooks and kitchen staff during service
  • Ensure all dishes meet required standards for quality, presentation, and taste
  • Monitor portion control, consistency, and timing of meals
  • Ensure correct handling, storage, and preparation of food and equipment
  • Maintain cleanliness, hygiene, and order in all kitchen areas
Staff Supervision
  • Assist with training and mentoring of kitchen staff
  • Ensure kitchen policies, hygiene standards, and food safety requirements are followed
  • Support junior staff in developing skills and efficiency
