Job description

Our client has an opportunity available for a Shipping Manager (Procurement).

Requirements
  • Matric or RPL.
  • Relevant degree in Supply Chain or Logistics.
  • 6-month certificate in clearing and forwarding.
  • Knowledge:
    • Importation logistics.
    • Import and customs regulations.
    • ACC PAC.
    • MS Office (advance excel).
    • Blue link or Investec Import solutions would be advantageous.
    • Import Tracking Software.
    • Advanced Arithmetic.
    • Product Knowledge.
Responsibilities
  • Calculate duties, tariffs, price conversions, weight, and volume of the merchandise to be imported from foreign destinations.
  • Monitor and complete paperwork and monetary transactions associated with international imports.
  • Receive stock onto ACC PAC.
  • Ensure all pricing structures are updated according to new exchange rates.
  • Ensure that the shipment adheres to customs regulations and coordinate with shipping and customs agents for clearance on delivery.
  • Deal with quotes from prospective shippers.
  • Handle claims with insurance companies if any shipment problems happen to occur.
  • Provide efficient delivery logistics information through data management.
  • Compute international fees for each shipment and keep track of shipment payments.
  • Adhere to specified standards, policies, practices and procedures.
  • Take personal responsibility for the cleanliness and appearance of the assigned workspace.
  • Act as a third‑party service provider for customers.
  • Submit a weekly goods and transit report to management.
  • Ensure that the customers goods are delivered using the correct mode of transport.
  • Keep updated with the exchange rates inform CFO accordingly.
