  • Office location negotiable across NSW; hybrid working supported
  • Salary (experience based) $129,464 to $142,665 super

The Water Analytics Branch is currently seeking to appoint a Senior Technical Writer in a temporary capacity to 30 June 2026. The Water Group leads the NSW Government in providing confidence to communities and stakeholders through transparent stewardship of water resources and reforms that support sustainable environments and economies across NSW.

Key Responsibilities

This role delivers high‑quality information products and reporting for stakeholders by:

  • Identifying and analysing product requirements
  • Collaborating with water modelling, geospatial, and analytics staff and stakeholders
  • Developing surface water and groundwater model reports, technical memos, and summaries for multiple projects (e.g., Northern Basin Connectivity, Sustainable Water Sharing, Minimum Inflows)
  • Producing internal best‑practice guidelines for data visualisation and guidance material for the Spatial Viewer
  • Creating comms outputs for consultation on models and engagement with stakeholders
  • Supporting continuous improvement of information products for a range of internal and external audiences
