Essence of the job:

Our client is seeking a process engineer responsible for detailed process plant designs.

Qualification:

Degree in Metallurgy / Chemical Engineering.

Minimum Requirements:

• Technical Skills: Proficiency in process simulation software, process modeling, process flow diagrams (PFDs), Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).
• Soft Skills: Strong analytical, problem-solving, leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Experience: Proven track record in process design, optimization, and project execution, often in chemical, oil & gas, or manufacturing sectors.

Detailed process plant design includes:

• Plant mass and water balance generation.
• Generation of process flow diagrams.
• Generation of piping & instrumentation diagrams.
• Process parameter and design criteria setup.
• Equipment specification and sizing including pumps, valves, pipes, tanks, screens, thickeners, filter presses and various other process plant equipment.
• Data sheet generation.
• Functional specification and control philosophy generation.
• Liaising and meeting with clients and vendors.
• Process optimization of existing plants.
• Plant commissioning, optimization and performance testing.
• Plant auditing.
• HAZOP studies (Hazard identification and operability reviews.
• Optimize complex mineral processes, focusing on efficiency, cost reduction, and quality.
• Act as a technical expert and mentor, bridging strategy with execution for projects.
• Lead process engineering aspects for new projects or upgrades, from concept to commissioning, managing scopes, specifications, and contractors.
• Conceptual, Feasibility Studies & Detailed Engineering.
• Project management including overseeing Junior Engineers and Process Draughtsman.
• Liaising with other engineering disciplines and provide process specific support, as required.
• Provide metallurgical support to clients, as required.
• Guide junior engineers, provide technical training, and work with cross-functional teams (mechanical, electrical, operations).
