Overview

Job Description

We are seeking a meticulous and experienced Payroll Administrator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for processing various payrolls on VIP for all WSP Operating Companies. This role requires a keen eye for detail and the ability to differentiate between permanent and contract or fixed-term staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • VIP payroll administration and processing
  • Manage workflow to ensure all payroll transactions are processed accurately and timeously, with strong internal controls and governance in payroll
  • Assist in processing payrolls in South Africa and across Africa to ensure timely and accurate payments and submission of necessary legislative returns (South Africa, Moz, DRC, Ghana)
  • Remain current on new legislation and regulatory rulings influencing payroll and reporting requirements; enforce adherence and advise management on required actions
  • Run the payroll interface - General Ledger, Leave provision, and 3rd party payments
  • Administration of reimbursements to employees (credit cards and petrol cards)
  • Balance and reconcile payroll-related payments and deductions to VIP reports prior to transmission to validate reports
  • Prepare accurately and timely reports as required by Finance and Human Resources
  • Carry out self-audits on the master payroll schedule
  • Prepare Bank Control Account reconciliations
  • Prepare reconciliation of all salary and share bank accounts
  • Resolve General Ledger queries from Finance
  • Update all employees’ Employment Equity and Skills Development information on the VIP system
  • Reconcile and submit Employee benefits; manage the interface between Employee benefits and third parties; ensure reconciliations match third-party records
  • Maintenance and accurate capturing of Leave records, and completion of leave reconciliations; advise HR if excessive sick or unpaid leave is identified
  • Maintain data integrity and data updates of the payroll system
  • Prepare and distribute IRP5 certificates each year
  • Medical Aid and Pension Fund administration
  • General admin duties including filing
