Qualifications

• Recognised Trade Test Certificate in Mechanical Fitter or Fitter and Turner.
• Grade 12 qualification with Maths and Science or N3 Engineering qualification.
• 2 years of post-apprenticeship experience in a heavy engineering environment preferred.
• Valid Driving Licence required.

Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical maintenance on plant equipment, focusing on gearboxes and pumps.
• Plan and execute maintenance activities according to schedules.
• Troubleshoot breakdowns for swift repairs.
• Conduct daily and weekly inspections of equipment.
• Provide after-hours standby coverage for breakdowns.
• Report unsafe acts to maintain safety standards.
• Participate in safety programs to promote a safety culture.
• Use SAP for spare parts and maintain Master Data.
