Overview

Hire Resolve’s Client is seeking experienced Mechanical Engineers with a minimum of 10 years of post-qualification experience in the Building Services Sector, preferably with a focus on healthcare, specifically hospitals, to join their team. The positions are based in Alberton, Durban and Kimberley.

Responsibilities
  • Design and oversee mechanical installations including Wet Services, Fire Services, Medical Services, Compressed Air, Laundry Equipment, etc.
  • Compile tenders and bills of quantities with a thorough understanding of various contracts such as JBCC and NEC3.
  • Manage all phases of projects from condition assessment and inception to project handover with minimal supervision.
  • Handle project financial management including budgeting, payment certification, cost reporting, and final accounts independently.
  • Manage large-scale projects (service value of +30 million) and mega projects (service value of +100 million) without supervision.
  • Conduct site inspections, condition assessments, and generate detailed reports.
  • Liaise with clients, engage with professional teams, conduct meetings, and supervise sites effectively.
  • Prepare high-quality technical reports and conduct feasibility studies.
  • Mentor junior engineers with a minimum of 5 years of experience in mentorship.
  • Draft, implement, and monitor project cash flow for the department and report to senior management as required.
  • Coordinate with the finance department to ensure accurate and timely invoicing.
  • Conduct continuous skills audits for the department and report on skills gaps to senior management and HR.
  • Demonstrate strong analytical, literacy, and numerical skills.
  • Exhibit excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Requirements
  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • ECSA Pr. Eng Registration.
  • ECSA Fire Registration is an advantage.
  • Registrations with ASHRAE, SAIRAC, SAIMECHE are advantageous.
  • Proficiency in designing high-rise buildings and using CANUTE or other fire software.
  • Exposure to AUTOCAD / Revit.
  • Valid Driver’s License and own vehicle.
  • Willingness to travel and work long hours as project requirements dictate.
