Job summary

A technology company is seeking a Senior JAVA Developer to join their financial services client in Johannesburg for a 6-month contract. The ideal candidate will possess a BSc degree and at least 3 years of development experience. Responsibilities include applying critical thinking in an agile environment, debugging, and supporting CI/CD pipelines. Familiarity with Containerization technologies and Object-Oriented Design is essential. Most roles are remote, but applicants should be local to Johannesburg.

Qualifications

• Completed IT / BSc degree or other related fields.
• 3 years' development experience.
• Experience working in an agile environment.
• Solid understanding of Object-Oriented Design.
• Experience with test-driven development.
• Understanding of web services like SOAP and REST.
• Experience with open-source relational databases.

Responsibilities

• Apply critical thinking, design thinking, and problem-solving skills in an agile environment.
• Contribute to all phases of the development lifecycle.
• Quickly produce organized and documented source code.
• Support the development of CI/CD pipelines.
• Debug existing source code and polish feature sets.
