Overview
Reference: CFA020893-KR-1 Seeking a Senior Investment Consultant to lead client engagements, provide strategic investment advice and deliver high-quality consulting outputs. This role combines technical investment expertise with strong client relationship management skills and offers the opportunity to mentor junior consultants while driving transition to a tech-enabled consulting model.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Client Advisory & Relationship Management – Lead client relationships across pension, insurance and institutional mandates; Develop and implement tailored investment strategies aligned with client objectives; Present investment performance, market updates and strategy recommendations at board and committee meetings; Draft and maintain Investment Policy Statements (IPS) and related governance documentation
- Investment Strategy & Research – Conduct asset-liability modelling (ALM) and strategic asset allocation analysis; Perform manager research and due diligence across multiple asset classes (equity, fixed income, alternatives, offshore); Evaluate portfolio performance using attribution, risk analysis and peer benchmarking; Contribute to macroeconomic outlooks and tactical asset allocation recommendations
- Implementation & Oversight – Coordinate manager transitions, cash flows and rebalancing strategies; Monitor mandate compliance, investment risk and governance adherence; Support the integration of proprietary systems and automation tools into client consulting workflows; Liaise with reporting and operations teams to ensure timely and accurate delivery of client reports
- Leadership & Collaboration – Mentor and review the work of junior consultants and analysts; Collaborate with Manager Research, Systems Development and Reporting teams to enhance client service delivery; Contribute to new business development by preparing and reviewing RFPs, tenders and proposals; Participate in internal committees including the Economic and Tactical Asset Allocation (TAA) Committee
Skills & Experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication including presentation to boards and committees
- Strong client management and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary environment
- Proactive mindset with strong problem-solving and leadership abilities
- Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint; working knowledge of R, Python or Power BI advantageous
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills with ability to interpret complex financial data
- Familiarity with Regulation 28, SAM and other local investment regulatory frameworks
- Experience with performance attribution, ALM modelling or ESG integration desirable
Qualifications
- Honours Degree in Actuarial Science, Investment Management, Finance, Economics or related field
- CFA/CAIA/AMASSA/TASSA progress advantageous
- Minimum 5-10 years of experience in investment consulting or institutional asset management
- Proven experience in strategic asset allocation, manager selection and client advisory
- Exposure to actuarial modelling, investment reporting systems or LDI frameworks advantageous
