Job Purpose
To ensure statutory compliance, compile and provide accurate and timely financial information to management in order to make informed business decisions.
Education and Experience
- Education: BCom Accounting CA (SA) advantageous
- Experience: Minimum 5 years’ senior experience in Finance; Manufacturing / Automotive experience advantageous. Strong management background in all audit preparations across the board.
Key Performance Areas
- Reporting to the Head of Accounting.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare financial reports and returns for internal and external use. Provide financial analysis and support to management. Review and action financial variances (Budget / Forecast / Estimate). Ensure compliance with IFRS. Submission of monthly and annual reports on reporting platform (OneStream). Functional currency reporting.
- General Ledger: Prepare provisions and accruals. Prepare general ledger journals with appropriate support. Prepare monthly general ledger reconciliations (BS & IS) in line with group requirements and action variances. Ensure timely and accurate closing from a GL point of view. Balance Sheet reconciliations.
- Internal Control: Ensure compliance to Global Control Framework (GCF) and Delegation of Authority (DoA) and company policies and procedures. Prepare and submit monthly control checks allocated as per GCF. Maintain the risk register.
- Budget / Forecast: Prepare & consolidate detailed budget and medium term forecast annually. Prepare & consolidate monthly short term forecast (P/L & BS) and glidepath. Prepare & consolidate weekly flash and month-end estimate.
- CAPEX, Tooling & Fixed Assets: Prepare & maintain a CAPEX and Tooling reports & register; track actual spend against approved spend; plan future profitability & cash flows of the projects. Prepare CAPEX requisition with all relevant information. CAPEX analysis with project launch comparison. Support useful life and residual value of Fixed Assets analysis. Lease accounting.
- Audits and Year-End Processes: Prepare and plan Year-end Statutory Audit (external and internal) in line with the consolidated Audit plan. Prepare reporting on Accounting, Audit and Tax Packs. Support in providing information on internal audit, and closure of findings stemming from internal audit. Support BBBEE audit.
- NWC & Cash Management: Overall NWC & cashflow management & forecast. Supplier payments.
- Intercompany: Perform Intercompany reconciliation and ensure zero clock outs at month-end.
- Forex: Prepare Forex Forecasts. Book FEC contracts based on AP requirement and review Excon applications.
- Statutory Returns and Taxes: Oversee tax compliance. Review VAT return and checklist. Support process of WCA, PAYE and Provisional / Income Tax returns. Prepare Government Incentive Applications. Prepare BBBEE reports and information.
- Insurance: Prepare Insurance Declarations. File claims for losses.
- Other: Compile and review sales reports. Performs other related duties as assigned.
