The ideal candidate will have a CA(SA) qualification and 5-10 years of experience in a Financial Manager role, preferably in the construction industry. SUMMARY :

Our client, a well-established electrical contractor located in Cape Town that services the industrial, commercial, and residential sectors, is seeking a Senior Finance Manager to establish finance systems and lead their finance team.

POSITION INFO : Requirements :

  • CA(SA)
  • 5 - 10 years of experience in a Financial Manager capacity
  • Exposure to or experience in the construction or allied industries (e.g., suppliers) (preferable)
  • Computer literate with full finance and payroll exposure

Duties include :

  1. Lead administration, finance, and team management
  2. Prepare detailed weekly, monthly, and quarterly cash flow planning and management
  3. Contract costing and profitability management
  4. Ensure all revenue is billed and cash is collected as due
  5. Ensure costs per contract are accurate, reliable, and provide early warning of losses
  6. Maintain adequate facilities to fund the business
  7. Consolidate financial reporting (monthly and year-end)
  8. Monitor profit control through monthly budget vs. actual vs. prior year variance reporting
  9. Manage full Tax, VAT, EMP 201 & 501, dividends, import duties, and forex management
  10. Handle foreign transactions, forward cover, and export management
  11. Ensure expenditure is minimized, authorized, received, and correctly allocated
  12. Oversee the debtor’s department, address credit issues, and ensure timely cash collection
  13. Maintain the integrity of financial systems, databases, and reports
  14. Implement and oversee internal controls within the business
  15. Keep Senior Management informed on business, finance, cash flow, and contract issues
  16. Ensure standard operating procedures are simple, documented, and relevant
  17. Manage projects including budgets, programs, audits, bank facilities, and annual audits
